Clerk of Court
The Clerk of District Court manages Valley County’s official court records, issues marriage licenses, accepts passport applications, and serves as the Jury Commissioner. Most records are public, but legal advice cannot be provided.

Justice Court handles misdemeanor crimes, traffic violations, small claims, civil cases under $15,000, landlord-tenant disputes, and preliminary hearings for felony charges. It also issues warrants and protection orders.

Juvenile Probation supervises youth involved in the court system, focusing on rehabilitation through monitoring, counseling, and support services to help them make positive life choices and avoid further legal trouble.
